Lucho’s Barça On Course To Making Plenty Football History This Season!

Spanish football giants, FC Barcelona, are on the verge of making lots of football history this year, if their rampant form is anything to go by.

The ‘Blaugrana’ seem to be getting better and better under the tutelage of manager Luis Enrique, and they are not showing any signs of slowing down anytime soon. Since bludgeoning their fiercest rivals, Real Madrid, in November last year, Barça have looked more and more like a side that will much likely prove my prediction accurate, by defending their treble. I believe that the reason for this is because they not only have a world-class squad, but a world-class manager, too.

Lucho, as he is affectionately known, has proven to be a top-quality coach, who not only won the Spanish La Liga, Copa del Rey (Spanish league cup), and the European Champions League in his debut season at the Camp Nou, but continues to maintain Barça’s reputation as the best club in world football. In fact, he has now won five trophies with the Catalans in the year and a half at the helm, after also bagging the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup already this season.

The Asturian, who was named the FIFA Coach of the Year at the game’s biggest awards ceremony early last month, also seems to be a breaker of records. In his 100th match as the Barça boss, versus Levante on the 7th of February, he equalled the club’s record of going 28 matches without tasting defeat in all competitions — a feat that he has now surpassed after securing a 1-all draw at Valencia three days later.

Barça have already managed to secure another cup final spot thanks to the above-mentioned stalemate against Valencia, which came after they pulverised Gary Neville’s men in a 7-0 win in the first leg of that Copa del Rey tie. They also lead the La Liga log with 16 matches remaining in the season at the time of writing, and are in the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League, where they will meet English side Arsenal.

In the formidable state they are in, I’m confident that my bold prediction will come true, especially with this smart manager in charge. Be ready to witness more records being broken and a lot of football history being made this season by this well-oiled machine!
